Hi! I’m Jim, and drumming has been my passion since I was 13 years old when I got my first drum set. It was a 5 piece 70’s Ludwig Classic in red sparkle. Man I wish I still had that kit!
I’ve owned and played many kits, different hardware, cymbals and accessories over the years. I’ve got a good bit of knowledge about ‘most things drums’ and thought it would be fun to create this blog of interesting things I’ve learned or have stumbled upon through the years.
May main drum kit now is a Gretsch Renown in Vintage Pearl. It’s a 5 piece but I now play it with just 1 tom up. I have quite a few snare drums but I mainly play this kit with my 14″x5.5 Gretsch Brooklyn snare. I absolutely love that snare drum and the kit as a whole.

I love jamming with fellow musicians and playing gigs with my two bands as often as possible.

I’m still playing live shows with my college band, Kickin’ Edgar. We toured the Southeast from 1988-1991 as a mostly alternative cover and original band. We re-united in 2009 and have been at it ever since playing clubs and festivals around town.

The Dammages have been around since the mid-90s as a Southern/Country Rock band. I took over on the kit in 2013. It’s been a blast and I absolutely love jamming and playing live gigs with my ‘Dammaged’ family. Our sets can be very eclectic and may include tunes by Bad Company, Dorothy, Chris Stapleton, Pat Benetar, Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, DnC, The Cult, and many more. We’ve also recorded some fantastic original music to boot.
